Welcome to the Fish Hatchery
After 99 years as a New York State Trout Hatchery, we opened as a non-profit educational center dedicated to educating our visitors about the freshwater ecosystems of New York.
We offer unique public programs year-round and provide education programs for thousands of students from pre-K through college. Scouts, senior citizens, and groups with disabilities also attend our programs.
We are proud to have the largest living collection of New York State freshwater reptiles, fish and amphibians. Our visitors can tour our two aquarium buildings and eight outdoor ponds, feeding the hungry trout or trying our "Catch & Keep Fishing" along the way. We also raise trout to stock private ponds.
