Basic Birthday:
Birthday Parties held at the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium are the responsibility of those hosting the party. Children must be supervised at ALL TIMES. The party host is responsible for the set-up and clean-up of the picnic area.
Picnic Tables may be reserved for $100 for 2 hours.
There will be a $50 overtime fee for each additional ˝ hour.
You must pay the admission fee for EVERYONE who enters the Hatchery grounds.
The earliest time you may arrive is 10am. Latest arrival time 2pm.
Everyone must vacate the Hatchery grounds by 5pm.
You must reserve your space a minimum of 2 weeks in advance.
Education Program:
You may choose to add an educational program to your party package. The program will be conducted at the beginning of your scheduled party time. The program will include one Hatchery staff member guiding the children through the 2 exhibit buildings and giving brief explanations about the animals. The children will also feed the fish during the program. The children will receive a take-home coloring activity sheet.
Choose from: Fish, Reptiles, or Amphibians.
Program length: 30 minutes
Group size limit: For the education program there will be a limit of 20 children and 2 adults. These numbers will be strictly enforced. Additional adults attending the party will be asked to remain in the picnic area during the program time; they are welcome view the exhibits on their own.
Age Limit: The education program will be conducted for children ages 5-10 years old.
Program Fee: $100- A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to book the program.

These programs are NOT available on Holidays
Things to know:
• You must provide your own paper goods, food, and goody bags.
• No alcoholic beverages are permitted.
• The Hatchery is unable to provide refrigerator or freezer space. Please bring your own coolers and ice.
• All guests must check in at the admissions booth before entering the Hatchery grounds.
• We recommend designating one adult as your “greeter”. That person can guide the children who are being dropped-off to the picnic area. You will be charged admission for any children and adults that enter the Hatchery grounds.
• As we are an environmental education center we request that you do not bring Styrofoam products, balloons or confetti. And you must take your trash with you.
• Items from our Gift Shop may be purchased. Please make arrangements with our staff ahead of time for choosing items and to ask about discounts on 10 or more of the same item.
