Fall Fair
The Fall Fair provides visitors the opportunity to learn from conservation and environmental groups, play games, enjoy food and
refreshments, and fish for trout (children under 12 only). All fishing gear provided by the Hatchery. Local environmental and
conservation groups will be present.
Father's Day
Happy Father's Day! Free admission for Dads when accompanied by their children.

Slipper, Slimy Science: Slime is a sticky, slippery substance used by many animals to help them survive. Come make your own gooey slime and

Ice Cream & Snowmen: Make your own tasty ice cream treat and participate in a snowman making contest! In the absence of snow, the competition

Fishing on Long Island
Join us for a seminar on where and what to fish for on Long Island. Our guest speaker is award winning author and photographer
Tom Schlichter. Tom has written over 3,000 articles for both local and national magazines. A book signing featuring Long
Island's Best Freshwater Fishing will follow the talk.
"Food for Food" Drive
Donate a non-perishable food item and receive one free fish food funtainer. Limit one per family. Food drive supports Island Harvest: Long Island's
Food Bank.
Free Mini Fish Food Funtainer Day
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr., every Hatchery visitor will receive one free mini fish food funtainer.
Halloween at the Hatchery
Every Hatchery visitor wearing a costume will receive one free mini fish food funtainer.
Haunted Hatchery
Calling all ghosts and goblins, spiders and bones, the Hatchery's open for an evening roam... Families are welcome to take part in the haunted events.
Included are flashlight sightings of spooky black catfish that swim in the inky outdoor ponds and gawking at pumpkin seed sunfish that live in the
aquarium tanks. Working one's way around the Hatchery's holdings will give spirits, former trout stripping staff, roused from the Hatchery's 128
year old past, a chance to tell their tall tales while answering visitor questions. Refreshments for all and kids in costumes an extra treat.

LI Herp Day
Learn about reptiles and amphibians, and observe live exhibits by the Long Island Herpetological Society. Don't forget to check out
the Hatchery's herps on display!
Make Your Own Holiday Ornaments
During the month of December, the Hatchery's classroom will be open for visitors to create their own holiday ornament. Ornaments will be displayed
on the Hatchery's Christmas tree.
Member's Discount in the Gift Shop
Hatchery members will receive a 25% discount in the gift shop during the month of December.
Mother's Day
Happy Mother's Day! Free admission for Moms when accompanied by their children.
Opening Day of Trout Season
Come celebrate with the Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery and enoy a FREE fishing rod rental on the first day of the
trout season! All other admission and fishing fees apply.
Santa is Coming to the Hatchery
Santa Claus will be handing out candy canes and available for pictures as he tours the Hatchery grounds. At 7pm a tree lighting ceremony will take
place. Refreshments will include hot chocolate, cookies and tea. Don't forget to create your own holiday ornament which will be displayed on the
Hatchery's Christmas tree.
Spring Break: Live Animal Presentations
Learn about many of the Hatchery & Aquarium's animals during live animal presentations.
Spring Fair
Join us for a day of games, refreshments and fun! Trout fishing in our Tidal Raceway for children under 12. Only Hatchery provided
gear may be used. Local environmental and conservation groups will be present.
Toys for Tots Toy Drive
The Cold Spring Harbor Fish Hatchery & Aquarium is pleased to announce that it will serve as a toy drop-off site for the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots
Program. Donors may bring new, unwrapped toys to the Hatchery, or you may purchase a toy at a 10% discount in the Hatchery's gift shop for donation
to Toys for Tots. By becoming a drop-off site the Hatchery will assist the Marines with their special mission to bring hope and joy of Christmas into
the lives of needy children.
Trout Birthday Party
Join us as we celebrate the birth of our trout. Enjoy refreshments and sing "Happy Birthday Baby Trout".
Turtle Hatch Day
Join us as we celebrate the hatching of our baby turtles. Come to the Hatchery to see the newly hatched turtles and enjoy refreshments.
Tying the Knot
Practice tying fishing and boating knots at hands-on learning stations throughout the Hatchery. Make your own valentines.
Veteran's Day
